Our Metals
We use a premium recipe for our metals to ensure strength and beauty for generations. Please read below for a little more about the most recommended metals:
14k Gold
Because 100% pure gold, ie 24 karat gold, is too soft to make fine jewelry with, it needs to be mixed with other metals. 14 karat gold contains 58.3% pure gold and a mixture of other metals that add durability. This metal is ideal for delicate designs because of it’s strength and hardness. This is the most popular metal for engagement rings and in most cases this is what we recommend.
18k Gold
18 karate gold is 75% pure gold. It is the best choice for anyone who wants to have the most amount of gold in the ring while still having enough durability, compared to 24K gold.
Platinum
Platinum is a premium white metal that is hypoallergenic. Because platinum is naturally white in color, it is advantageous over getting white gold because it never needs to be re-plated. While gold and platinum are similar in price per gram, platinum is more dense and so more of it is required to make a ring, so it is a more expensive choice. Because it is more dense it is heavier as well. It is also softer than gold, but when platinum is scratched, the platinum gets moved from one place on the ring to another, and it develops something called a patina finish. Patina finish is a sought after, beautiful antique look appreciated and desired by many.
